Hello everyone,
Can I do this? Am I good enough? What if I don’t succeed?
Have you asked yourself these questions at some point in your career?
I have done so, many times.
These are damaging questions that stem from a lack of self-belief.
And naturally, this severely affects our self-confidence.
All of us have core beliefs that guide the decisions that we make in our lives. They affect how we view and interpret events in our lives.
This then influences the way we think, feel and behave.
Our healthy beliefs serve us well but our self-limiting ones don’t.
Here are some quick thoughts on being confident at work.
Have a success mindset. Look ahead and envision the version of you that has already achieved your ambitions. Embody them today.
Be mindful of your fear of rejection. Take action towards your goals and always remember that you can engage in course corrections along the way. Rejection and fearing it is normal but it isn’t a good reason to stop you from being your best. With action, that fear will dissipate and you wonder why you even felt that way in the first place.
Create a positive mental narrative. Believe that what you want to do is achievable regardless of what anyone says or your current circumstances. This helps you push to be the best you can be. Whatever happens, happens.
When you start to believe in yourself, you will recognise opportunities you had not noticed before. So try your best to fight your self-limiting beliefs, and you will gain confidence at work.
Self-belief is a concept that can be rebuilt and grown.
So if you want others to believe in you, both at work and elsewhere, you have to focus on believing in yourself first.
Act
Set a goal, and give yourself 30 days to achieve this. Your goal can be to stick with a new habit or develop a new hobby. 30 days is just enough to strategise, plan, get into action, review and nail the goal.
If you found this useful, please share this with your family, friends, and colleagues to give them a little boost too.
That’s all from me today. I wish you all the best in the week ahead.
